About the role:

This position will be responsible for the implementation and maintenance of security systems designed to maintain VRL's security profile both on the Internet and internally. The Senior security Engineer will remediate vulnerabilities and develop best practices and standards across the Village Roadshow Group. We’re looking for someone with a keen interest in the use of security tools and who has a willingness to learn and collaborate with those around them.

This role will see you:

• Strong hands on experience in security controls - (End point, Firewalls, Web Application Firewall, Data Loss, PAM, Email gateway, Azure security, etc.)
• Support security audits and manage PCI compliance
• Work with a managed Security Operations Centre (SOC) to ensure proactive monitoring of the environment
• Identify IT related risks, threats and vulnerabilities; propose and action remediation recommendations
• Be an escalation point of potential security incidents in line with appropriate processes and guidelines and assist in their remediation;
• Contributing to the security design and implementing security controls
• Develop a continuous improvement approach to both the technology and security environment across all processes and products in use;
• Undertake risk assessments on projects & solutions in conjunction with the architecture team
• Improve and manage security policies, procedures and tests
• Work with the Infrastructure team to ensure patching is maintained and up to date

About you:

The key skills and competencies we are seeking in the successful candidate include:

• Significant experience in a Security Engineer role with demonstrated background in the technical aspect of managing security tools including firewalls, vulnerability scanners (Rapid7), a/v products, email gateways/security and security logging tools;
• Working knowledge of infrastructure technologies (operating systems, networking, public cloud, backup, recovery, monitoring) as well as networking;
• Possess relevant IS security certifications or training;
• Cloud exposure, Azure & AWS would be highly preferred;
• Experience with Crowdstrike EDR, Palo Alto Firewalls, Proofpoint Email Gateway, Rapid7 advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels;
• A collaborative and proactive approach to solving problems and either working as a team or autonomously;
• A genuine passion for Cyber Security!
